Rewriting the Narratives That Shape Our Lives
We are always telling stories—about who we are, what we deserve, and what is possible for us. Most of the time, we don’t even realize it.
These internal narratives quietly shape our identity, our choices, and the lives we allow ourselves to live.
In this powerful keynote, bestselling author Suzanne C. Carver introduces Story Medicine, the practice of consciously choosing the stories we live inside. Through storytelling, cultural insight, and practical frameworks, she helps audiences recognize the narratives that have shaped them—and reclaim the power to rewrite them.
This talk invites a profound shift in how we understand our past, our patterns, and our potential.
Audiences leave with a profound reframe of themselves and their experiences — empowered to choose the story they live now and consciously author the one that comes next.
The Power to Be You:
Rewriting the Narratives That Shape Our Lives
Many people — especially women — learn early that belonging comes with conditions: be agreeable, be smaller, be easier to accept.
Over time, these messages shape the story we tell about our power.
In this bold and thought-provoking keynote, Suzanne C. Carver explores how we unknowingly outsource our authority through approval-seeking, performance, and the pressure to conform.
Through powerful storytelling and sharp cultural insight, she challenges audiences to question the narratives that have been shaping their lives — and to reclaim the courage to stand fully in who they are.
Because the moment you stop negotiating with your authenticity, something powerful happens.
You begin to lead your life from the inside out.
Impactful leadership begins with self-leadership.
What Audiences Walk Away With
• A new lens on identity and power — how the narratives we carry quietly shape our choices, confidence, and sense of possibility.
• Permission to change their narrative — and the courage to choose one aligned with who they truly are.
• Tools to rewrite limiting narratives — transforming self-doubt and people-pleasing into self-trust, clarity, and agency.
• Reconnection with personal power — building a bridge to self-leadership and ownership of their unique gifts.
• A shift that goes beyond insight — audiences leave not just thinking differently, but experiencing themselves differently.
About Suzanne C. Carver
Suzanne C. Carver didn’t set out to become a speaker about power - she set out to understand why so many women struggle to fully own it, especially herself. For years, Suzanne appeared confident and capable on the outside while quietly carrying a question many women know well: Am I too much? That question led her on a personal journey to examine the stories women absorb about their worth, their voice, and their power - and what happens when we finally decide to rewrite them.
Today, Suzanne is a speaker, authenticity coach, and the creator of Story Medicine, a framework that helps people recognize and rewrite the internal stories that influence their confidence, leadership, and sense of possibility. Through powerful storytelling and practical insight, she helps audiences understand how fear, belonging, and approval can quietly shape our relationship to power - and how reclaiming authorship of our story allows us to reconnect with it.
Suzanne is the bestselling author of the novel Flight Path and is known for delivering deeply engaging talks that blend emotional insight with practical tools for personal transformation. Her work helps women challenge limiting narratives, trust their own voice, and step into greater self-leadership. Audiences consistently describe her talks as relatable, thought-provoking, and deeply empowering.
Based in Maine, Suzanne is passionate about helping women stop shrinking their power and start living as the fullest version of themselves. When she’s not writing or speaking, you can often find her wandering in the woods with her dog, happily pretending she doesn’t have cell service.
